The TruFitness4Life philosophy

Fitness should make your life bigger.

Training should help you carry more, move with confidence, play longer, recover better, and keep doing what matters to you.

The coach behind TruFitness4Life

Hello, my name is Truman.

I am a strength and conditioning coach at Vngce Athletics, and I have spent the last 14 years helping people build strength, confidence, and a healthier relationship with fitness.

I have had the pleasure of coaching an enormous range of people: children as young as five, adults in their late seventies and early eighties, people who had never considered exercising, high school athletes, weekend warriors, professional soccer players, and professional BMX racers.

My fitness journey

From the pool to a complete rebuild.

This was never a quick transformation. It was a journey through sport, weight gain, fatherhood, cycling, CrossFit, education, and more than three years of committed work.

Why I understand starting over

I have lived the long version of change.

After high school, I spent some time in the gym, but my weight continued to climb. I gained about 60 pounds and, at my heaviest, reached 290 pounds.

About three years later, I had my son. Between fatherhood and the demands of my job at the time, I knew I needed to make lasting changes. I started riding my bike and doing my own research. I lost roughly 50 pounds on my own.

Then a friend introduced me to CrossFit. Joining a gym gave my fitness a new direction. I lost another 50 pounds, eventually added about 35 pounds of muscle, and discovered a thirst for learning everything I could about health, training, and performance.

My journey from 290 pounds to 190, and later back to roughly 230 pounds at 12–16% body fat, took more than three years. There are no quick fixes. Real change takes time and commitment.

That experience is the foundation of my coaching. I have lived and breathed fitness for the last 14 years, and I would love to help you build the strength, consistency, and capability to reach the fitness goals that matter in your life.

Life behind the training

The person always comes before the program.

Fatherhood helped change the direction of my life. These photos are a reminder that fitness never happens in isolation from family, responsibilities, confidence, setbacks, and ordinary days.

Why this exists

Capability over punishment.

TruFitness4Life is built around a simple idea: the best program is not the most extreme one. It is the one that meets you where you are, gives every session a purpose, and keeps working when life gets busy.

01

Train what matters

Build useful strength, mobility, conditioning, balance, and confidence.

02

Earn progression

Increase the challenge when movement quality, consistency, and recovery are ready.

03

Stay adaptable

Use shorter sessions, substitutions, and fallback weeks instead of quitting.
